Kickstarting our Havana workshops with plans for a photo book
What happens when you plan a photo tour in Cuba and one of the participants is a big-time online fundraiser? Well, chances are he’s going to come up with a Kickstarter idea to help finance a photo book of the trip.
Today, our photo group launches “Cuba: Seven in 10,” a Kickstarter conceived and spearheaded by Geoff Livingston, a photographer and author who I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know over the last year. Geoff’s idea is for our group of seven photographers to create a photo book of our our trip to Havana next week, with each photographer contributing 10 images to the project.
I’m extremely excited to be part of the project and I can’t think of a better way to kick off our Cuban adventure. Or a better way to introduce what our workshops have to offer beginning, intermediate and advanced photographers, alike. Our itinerary for next week’s trip is designed around portrait sessions with Cubans from every walk of life — boxers, baseball players, dancers, artists and farmers. Far from being a vacation, the trip is about learning and sharing.
